Titled ‘Resonance’, this display of a variety of works strives to blend the outline between technology and art. In the realm of science, resonance is said to occur when the matching vibrations of a secondary object increases the amplitude of the original object’s oscillation, producing a greater sum of energy. Similarly, the ‘social resonance’ theory states that resonance is a sense of connection derived from interdisciplinary human experiences. Inspired by these views, we want to display our opinions and adaptations of this forged connection between these disciplines.
It is our hope that this inevitable concoction of Art and STEM increases each other’s oscillation (sphere of influence) and results in a greater total of energy, inspiration, and revolution amongst its viewers.
In the exhibition, through exploratory materials, ‘eureka’ moment spurred ideas, and a collaborative, satirical 3D sculptures, we hope to move ‘Full STEAM Ahead’.
This piece made me believe in art as a creative catharsis- as a creator of emotions, preserver of beliefs, and destroyer of doubts. It represents a moment that fills me with humility, pure fear, and immense love.
This backlit installation brings out all the ways in which I have been connected to the world and how crucial a part do the social media platforms and softwares play in my life.
This piece depicts our digital age, where people have an overabundance of information from social media and technology- which has many implications. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, I have represented the impact of false information on our mental health by spreading panic, anxiety, distrust and aggression.
This piece shows how Mumbai’s textile industry forms intricate connections. However modern and technologically advanced the fast fashion industry is, it cannot beat the origins of where it started from.
A piece that reconceptualizes notions about science and art, draws interdisciplinary connections, and instils in you a desire to find your own identity- digital or real!
This installation made me realise how notorious the light rays can act and how tedious it can be to create a portrait with a non-traditional medium. It circles around the play of light and shadows with a visual aspect to it, clubbing the core theme of STEAM (science, engineering and art).
